Biospecimen Specialist - Job Summary
The Biospecimen Acquisition & Management team (BAM) at Roche Diagnostics International (RDI) leads the acquisition and management of biological materials and clinical samples with associated data designed to facilitate and advance local R&D activities.
Main Responsibilities:
* Manage the end-to-end biorepository activities to fulfill customer's specimen request within Roche Diagnostic Solutions (RDS).
* Collaborate with relevant permitting agencies, import/export compliance and local Safety and Biorepository Teams to comply with permit requirements.
* Maintain information in a validated laboratory information management system compliant with GxP principles and standards.
* Ensure accuracy, quality, and timeliness of work within supported projects and respond appropriately to changing priorities.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Science.
* Experience in handling biological specimens & willingness to work with potentially infectious biological material (Biosafety level 2).
* Proficient with MS Excel and Google suite.
* Hepatitis vaccination available.
* Able to lift 30lbs, work in a cold environment with limited daylight, stand for long periods of time and climb ladders.
* Self-motivated and solution-driven individual who can maintain quality, accuracy, and timeliness of deliverables.
* Ability to follow standard procedures and strong understanding of the concept of biospecimen traceability.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with efficiency; and capable of handling multiple projects.
* Good organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and stakeholder management.
* Team player, self-organized and motivated individual.
* Meticulous attention to detail.
Nice to Have:
* Experience in biospecimen acquisition, biobanking, clinical trial management, interfacing with stakeholders and/or project management.
* Experience in research, diagnostics, pharmaceutical, CRO or medical device industry.
* Experience in the use of LIMS or other validated systems.
* Understanding of regulatory requirements related to diagnostics.
* German language skills.
