Job Description: For our client, one of the leading pharmaceutical companies, we are looking for a candidate with more than 5 years of experience in developing customized Linux distributions and +5 years of experience with Linux systems.
General Information:
* Start date: asap
* Planned duration: 1 year
* Extension: possible
* Workload: 80-100%
* Remote/Home Office: Onsite 40%, home office possible, flexible working hours
* Travel: every 3 months
* Team: ca. 20 members
Tasks & Responsibilities:
* Contribute to Medical Instrument / Software Development Projects with technical know-how
* Development and maintenance of in-house Linux distribution and open-source tools
* Linux Software and Hardware troubleshooting, debugging and root-cause analysis
Must Haves:
* Master in SW Engineering or other degrees in Computer Science or equivalent experience (min. 3 years)
* More than 5 years of experience as a Senior Linux Software Engineer
* +5 years experience in developing customized Linux distributions
* +5 years experience with Linux systems (Debian/Ubuntu)
* Experience in Embedded Software, Hardware Drivers, ARM Platform, hardware/software integration
* Development experience with C/C++, Python, Go, Web technologies, Shell Scripting
* Strong knowledge of Operating Systems and Software building, testing, packaging
* Team player with a "can do" attitude, quick learner, enjoys problem-solving, ability to work independently
* English is advanced, ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences
Nice to Have:
* Experience in Virtualization / Container technologies, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines
* Debian package building
* German: not necessarily needed
