The role will ensure that GPB, specifically the EMEA entities, comply with their client tax reporting obligations ( FATCA, CRS, QI and any local obligations) in a timely and accurate manner.
Additionally, the role will support the GPB EMEA entities with other tax activities including, applying correct operational taxes ( withholding taxes incl. under QI regime, stamp duties and FTTs) and deliver high-quality tax reporting to clients.
The responsibility of the role holder is that these obligations are implemented effectively in the bank’s IT systems, that those systems are fit-for-purpose and where not already identify opportunities for automation.

What you will do:
1. Ensure the timeliness and accuracy of FATCA and CRS annual reporting, through engagement with relevant tax reporting teams.
2. Identify opportunities to enhance the reporting process through automation, improved tooling and streamlining.
3. Escalate issues or concerns which may impact reporting obligations and look to drive resolutions.
4. Provide regular updates to relevant governance forums on the progress of reporting.
5. As Business Product Owner for several tax reporting software packages, you will need to manage change requests and prioritisations, stand-up projects and implement minor enhancements and fixes.
6. Organise the implementation of new software or modules, including engagement with Technology teams, defining User Acceptance Testing, support testing and delivery of training to end-users.
7. A Subject Matter Expert in respect to client tax reporting queries and client tax statements.
8. Deliver training to those responsible for client tax reporting.
9. Provide tax expert input relating to regulatory changes, new product launches and other internal projects.
10. Be the main point of contact and on hand to support IT Developers.
Requirements
You should apply if you have:
11. A detailed knowledge and understanding of tax regulations, particularly within Europe, and how these are operationalised.
12. A comprehensive understanding of client tax reporting obligations.
13. The ability to effectively manage and communicate with stakeholders.
14. Being able to manage and prioritise various activities, ensuring any potential regulatory risk is mitigated.
15. An understanding of technology systems and architecture, especially those which support client tax reporting.
16. A background in identifying opportunities for streamlining and automation, and subsequently leading relevant change initiatives.
17. Able to interpret new or changes to existing tax legislation and articulate the potential impacts for the firm.
18. Understand how any business related changes impact client tax reporting obligations.
