Job Description
The Manager in Training (MIT) role is a transitional position that provides work assignments and training opportunities to prepare candidates for Retail/Commercial Store Management positions.
Candidates may progress to a management position within 8-12 weeks, depending on prior experience and performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Maintain an engaged store team through strong leadership and demonstrate initiative by leading by example.
2. Support the Store Manager in overall store operation, including financial management, employee staffing, inventory management, and customer service leadership.
Training and Development
MITs will complete operations and management skills training, learning about key aspects of the business and AutoZone culture.
Maintaining satisfactory performance and consistent progression through the training program is required to remain in the pipeline role and be considered for management openings.
Requirements
1. 1-2 years of previous experience as a retail manager or supervisor.
2. Able to work a full-time flexible schedule, including morning, night, and weekend shifts, with overtime as needed.
3. Bilingual preferred but not required.
4. Previous automotive experience preferred but not required.
