To reinforce our Digital Printing Team, we are looking for a 'R&D Materials Engineer' with a material chemistry background.
Mission & Key Responsibilities
* Understand fluid mechanics to run compatibility testing and to implement the reversed compatibility approach
* Improve & maintain materials interactive & online database
* Centralize material analysis requests
* Elaborate and maintain a representative material compatibility kit
* Build, manage and use a multifunctional representative test rig for materials validation
* Interact with technical and specific suppliers (Inkjet print heads, filters, …)
* Draft & maintain standard operating procedures
* Act as a material expert in all development of ink or press
* This job requires 20%-30% travel to the Fribourg area
Skills & Experience
* BSc in Materials Science & Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field
* Knowledge of fundamental inks & material chemistry (fluidic, rheology, …)
* Knowledge of physico-chemistry analytical methods (particle size, SEM, viscosity)
* Proven experience in material science or applied material chemistry
* Ability to work in a cross-functional organization in the context of the development of Material Expertise
* Ability to work autonomously
* Goal-driven, organized, and efficient
* Ability to document reports
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Strong analytical skills
* Fluent in English; French is a plus

The production site of Mex, near Lausanne in Switzerland, is also the headquarters of the Bobst Group. It is the most important site, employing approximately 1500 passionate people.
