Quality Control Analyst / WSMD (Commodity Trading)
We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Analyst / WSMD to strengthen our Quality Control desk.
Job Purpose
The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration and control of the quantity and quality of all metals purchase and sales, ensuring minimal risk in Loading/Disport location. This includes maintaining records of deals and taking actions when issues related to weighing, sampling, and analyzing arise.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure shipments are well-nominated on time at load port and/or disport based on an overview of all deals.
* Instruct surveyors, laboratories, and analysts to facilitate correct settlement with buyers/sellers.
* Identify potential risks in WSMD operations and suggest measures to minimize them.
* Review contractual terms for quality/quantity settlement clauses.
* Monitor and report quality/quantity differences between purchases and sales.
* Coordinate assay data exchange with buyers and sellers.
* Maintain historical records of deals for trend identification and statistical analysis.
* Review and provide feedback on weight/sampling operational protocols.
* Maintain communication with surveyors and laboratories.
* Update operation department data in the system.
Requirements
* At least 5 years of experience in quality/quantity departments in metals trading companies.
* Experience in blending concentrates operations and warehousing is ideal.
* Good understanding of Concentrates operation department logistics, hedges, and procedures.
* Knowledge of weighing, sampling, moisture determination, and sampling preparation protocols.
* Advanced level of Excel, Outlook, and adaptability to new internal software.
* Advanced English language skills; Spanish/Chinese language skills are desirable.
Working Conditions
* 40 hours per week in Zug, Switzerland, under Swiss law conditions.
