Job Description
* Support the General Counsel by providing strategic legal advice to the LNG desk in trade documentation and negotiation, specifically pertaining to Master Sales and Purchase Agreements (MSPAs) and underlying confirmations.
* Offer sharp and clear legal guidance on daily transactional LNG commodities business matters.
* Draft, review, and negotiate agreements related to energy trading, including natural gas sale and purchase, transportation, and other commercial agreements.
* Provide general support and advice on LNG structuring transactions.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to offer proactive solutions that facilitate business objectives.
* Analyze regulatory matters attached to LNG business activities to ensure compliance with licenses, reporting obligations, and other requirements.
Key Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have a strong educational background in Law, with demonstrated expertise in negotiation and legal drafting, specifically in energy marketing and trading agreements. A minimum of 3 years of experience in an in-house legal role or at an international law firm, with a focus on LNG trading is required.
* Knowledge and experience in Natural Gas trading agreements.
* Strong understanding of the energy markets and trading instruments.
* Familiarity with various EU commodity exchanges and commodity derivative trading.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, with fluency in other languages such as German, French, or an East European language being an advantage.
* Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to find solutions within the legal framework while considering business drivers and needs.
