Job Description:
Commercial Aircraft is looking for an Embedded Software Development Engineer – Run-Time Environment for RTOS (m/f) to join the Avionics and Simulation products engineering domain in Toulouse.
This organization is also a Chamber of Reference on Software and Electronics thanks to accomplished and experienced teams. The scope of activities also extends to other Airbus divisions and partners in some cases.
As a successful candidate, you will be in charge of developing avionics real-time software, specifically new features and new components for our reusable Critical Operating System DO178 DAL-A deployed on a new Avionics Product Line. You will implement all the steps of the development cycle process as well as the associated software engineering in terms of methods and tools, airworthiness rules, ensuring trade-offs on technical, business, and industrial goals.
This job requires strong technical skills in the Run-Time Environment domain for Embedded Critical Operating Systems.

1. Development of features in NanoKernel
2. Development of features in Time Critical Run-Time Environment
You will join a software team responsible for the development of software components that are part of embedded avionics applications such as Flight Controls, to run on specific or modular hardware platforms.

In an environment with industrial and certification constraints (DO178B and C, DAL A to C software), you will:
1. Develop embedded real-time software following the development process from high-level specification analysis to integration and validation on the definitive hardware.
2. Value customer needs and challenge them to propose common and reusable solutions.
3. Achieve integration and verification activities with the hardware using test means such as probes, bus analyzers, and emulators.
4. Ensure related support activities: failure report analysis, response to technical requests.
5. Improve ways of working; bring new design solutions and technologies.
6. Define, follow-up, and receipt subcontracted activities and deliverables, in conformity with subcontracting management rules.
7. Manage your activities following the expected schedule, budget, and quality.
8. Participate in the improvement of the Department performance.
9. Engage in software Chamber of Reference activities such as assessments of Airbus equipment suppliers.
You will report to a manager accountable for a set of avionics software products inside an agile organization with dynamic role assignments.

1. Runtime Environment domain for Embedded Critical Operating System
2. Low-Layers software skills: Operating system, Computer architecture, Processor architecture
3. Critical Real-Time embedded software development vs certification (DO178-C, DAL-A)
4. Programming languages: C in embedded context
5. Multi-Core Power PC architecture
6. Software engineering methods and tools (standard DEVOPS environment)
7. Open mindset, good communication skills, and good team working
8. An advanced level of English and French is required.
