Postdoctoral Fellow Position
We are seeking a highly skilled professional to contribute to the SNF Project 'VISION-EAR: Visualize Sound Transmission with Dynamic Phase-Contrast Micro-Tomography of the Human Middle Ear' at the X-Ray Tomographic Microscopy group of the Swiss Light Source (SLS).
Your Responsibilities
* Collaborate with the clinical team to enhance the sound stimulation setup and support synchrotron experiments.
* Develop a 3D semantic segmentation algorithm to automatically label middle ear microstructures.
* Optimize the dynamic analysis pipeline by integrating digital volume correlation to detect micromovements in the ossicular chain.
* Tailor the pipeline for large X-ray phase contrast tomography datasets.
* Segment and analyze 3D datasets acquired through X-ray tomography.
* Investigate non-linear behavior of human middle ear bones.
Your Profile
* A PhD degree in computing science, biomedical engineering, physics, or a related field.
* Previous experience in programming, data analysis, machine learning, and image processing.
* Familiarity with X-ray tomography is an asset.
* Excellent communication skills (spoken and written) in English.
* A passion for working in an interdisciplinary, multinational research environment.
