Overview
:
Celanese Engineered Materials (EM) business is seeking a dynamic and technically strong Sustainability & LCA Specialist to enable EM's sustainable growth commitments.
Responsibilities:
* Complete environmental life cycle assessment (LCA) modeling for EM's products, processes and competitive alternatives with an emphasis on product carbon footprints.
* Managing multiple concurrent consulting projects addressing Life Cycle Assessment, business sustainability projects, and/or corporate sustainability strategy.
* Writing ISO 14040/44 & ISO 14067 compliant reports and documenting your project work while ensuring projects adhere to scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
* Analyze manufacturing process data which includes investigating purchased raw materials, energy, water, waste, and emissions.
* Preparing and presenting project results in PowerPoint or other formats.
* Work closely with sustainability portfolio leaders to deliver timely data for product line & translate LCA/footprint results into actionable strategies and opportunities for business/product line teams.
* Support marketing functions in formulating sustainable product claims and directly support customers with LCA expertise of our products.
* Completing other sustainability-related projects as assigned, in support of the overall EM sustainability business plan.
* Work with 3rd party LCA or Sustainability consultants depending on project needs.
* Engagement in external forums to advance LCA methodologies/databases.
* Become highly knowledgeable with LCA/PCF data of EM's products and knowledgeable of LCA related trends in Celanese's markets and customers.
* Establish working relationships with business leaders, supply chain, R&D, manufacturing, product group, sales, marketing to drive results of LCA related initiatives.
Qualifications:
* Minimum 2 years of LCA experience and high proficient with LCA software (Gabi). SimaPro experience is a plus.
* Knowledge of ISO 14044/40, 14067, and Together for Sustainability (TfS) Guideline.
* Managing small to medium team projects.
* Familiarity with chemical products and chemical processes (preferred).
* Strong quantitative and technical background.
* High aptitude for conceptual & analytical thinking in combination with driving business results.
* Possion for sustainability.

* Complex problem solving and managing uncertainty.
* Strong communication skills.
