Project and Administrative Support Consultant The SNC seeks to hire a Project and Administrative Support Consultant to support both activities and the administrative work of the office.
The consultant will: Schedule and coordinate meetings and appointments for the SNCGO and SNC delegations.
Undertake political analysis and provide support to policy development.
Provide all-round support as needed to the SNCGO’s administrative and project work including planning, implementation, reporting, monitoring, and evaluation.
Support the SNCGO and SNC President in maintaining correspondence with diplomatic missions, interlocutors, and International Organizations.
Provide interpretation and translation support to the SNC Geneva Office and SNC delegations in Geneva and other countries as needed.
Provide support in drafting policies, concept notes, proposals, and other working and official papers of the SNC and the SNC Geneva Office, as required.
Provide general administrative and clerical support to management, including minute-taking.
Assist in resolving any administrative problems and other tasks as required.
Support the SNCGO on other tasks when needs emerge and upon mutual agreement.
Required Qualifications Advanced University degree in international law, international relations, and/or political sciences.
Proven experience in a similar position with governments, NGOs, and/or international organizations.
Proven experience in correspondence with diplomatic missions, interlocutors, and International Organizations.
Demonstrated knowledge of the Syrian file.
Excellent research and analytical skills.
Experience with outreach and awareness-raising activities.
Excellent command of written and spoken English and Arabic and proven experience in interpretation and translation.
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively, listen to and influence others.
Ability to work in a high-paced environment and manage multiple deadlines at once.
The work station will be in the SNC Office in GENEVA, Switzerland. However, the consultant may be required to travel with SNC delegations to other capitals. Such needs will be agreed on an ad hoc basis, and travel flights, accommodation, and allowance will be covered by the SNCGO. The consultant engagement will be for a fixed period commencing in February 2024 and ending on 31 December 2024 for a total of 96 days. The consultancy is open to bids from both individual consultants and companies.
