THE ROLE
As a Regional Controller, you will be responsiblefor supporting the Regional Accounting Controller and the Accounting Manager indriving and following the financial statement and ensure correct application ofaccounting policies and procedures for your area.
Your role will involve coordinating with various teams, BusinessControllers, Cost Controllers, and Group Reporting teams, to ensure theaccurate production of shipping management reports.
As a Regional Controller you will:
1. Drive monthly financial reporting/performance review together with the Cargo Reporting Manager, coordinating the production of Shipping managements reports across various teams (Business controllers, Cost Controllers, Group Reporting team).
2. Conduct a quarterly balance sheet analysis, identify process issues, detail the root causes and the impact on the balance sheet, and recommend corrective actions.
3. Work closely and in collaboration with your regional MSC agencies to maintain the general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis.
4. Identify opportunities for process improvements within the accounting function to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
5. Conduct thorough analysis to support the enhancement of documentation related to accounting policies, procedures, and controls, working closely with the Accounting Processes and Controls Manager.
6. Ensure correct application of accounting policies and procedures. Realize controls for the area you oversee.
7. Contribute to the improvement, standardization, and harmonization of group analysis to elevate the accounting / reporting process.
8. Facilitate internal and external audits by providing documentation, explanations, and support as required.
9. Manages multiple priorities, organise work and meet deadlines.
YOUR BACKGROUND
10. Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in Big 4 (Audit, Transaction Services) or similar position in other international groups.
11. Proactive with the ability to identify issues before they develop into problems; proactively resolving issues directly or through escalation to appropriate teams.
12. High attention to detail and quality.
13. Good communication to ensure proper presentation of group financial information.
14. Hands-on however organized and structured.
15. Ability to take decisions to ensure proper solutions get delivered.
16. Profound knowledge in both IFRS and Swiss accounting according to Swiss Code of Obligation
17. Strong team spirit and proven ability to work in and with multi-site teams.
18. Good level of French and English are mandatory.
CONTRACT DETAILS
19. Based in Geneva.
20. Full TimePermanent Role.
21. Starting ASAP.
22. EU citizenship or valid Swiss work permit is required.
