The positions we offer are best suited to bachelor’s and master’s program graduates, with 1-2 years of previous professional experience.
Conditions and benefits of the Early Careers Programme
* Hybrid (3 days per week) onsite employment contract of 6 months at a World Economic Forum office in San Francisco
* Program start dates between March 15 and April 15
* Monthly gross compensation of USD $4250
The Centre for Financial and Monetary Systems provides an independent and impartial platform to design and develop a more sustainable, resilient, trusted, and accessible financial system that reinforces long-term value creation and economic growth. The Centre has several ongoing projects and communities that aim to build financial systems leadership and resilient financial systems.
Reporting Lines & Interactions
The ECP will work with the Blockchain and Digital Assets team members and the broader Tech Enabled Innovation and Financial and Monetary Systems team, to help drive project delivery and community building in the development of new initiatives on Tokenization in Financial Markets and the Global Future Council (GFC) on Decentralized Finance. This role will place you on the front line of engaging with global leaders driving the trajectory of these innovations. The position is based in San Francisco and will work closely with teams in New York and Geneva.
Breakdown of main responsibilities
* 50% Project management
* 20% Initiative content research
* 20% Events/workshop planning and logistics
The ECP will play a key role facilitating engagement across the Forum's key senior stakeholders, including business executives, government officials, academics, our start-up community, and civil society organizations.
* Support the team with project scoping and delivery for the Tokenization in Financial Markets and GFC on Decentralized Finance initiatives in addition to other Tech Enabled Innovation initiatives.
* Collaborate to create and maintain project plans and timelines that support the team to determine tasks, due dates, and milestones in concert with the team’s objectives.
* Research and content curation on particular topic areas related to the project scope for inclusion in the initiative deliverable.
* Craft and execute strategies for effective community engagement within each initiative.
* Maintain important team documents and data in Salesforce and other digital platforms, create PowerPoint presentations to help drive projects forward.
* Collaborate with the Events team to manage event logistics for Institutional Forum meetings (both virtual and in-person), external workshops, and stakeholder meetings organized by the team.
* Use digital and traditional media to disseminate content and generate interest in the team’s activities and create content for Forum’s digital platforms to distribute within the Forum community, which includes internal and external stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be assessed on
* Track trends in the development of blockchain and digital assets and ongoing efforts related to tokenization and decentralized finance.
* Drive effective project coordination, through a highly collaborative approach and effective project and process management, communication, and reporting.
* Manage event planning and logistics for Forum workshops and partner meetings.
* Ensure that all project content (web and digital) is accurate and up-to-date, and support the curation of the project community on the Forum’s digital platforms.
* Engage public and private partners from industry, government, academia, international organizations, and civil society in the delivery of projects.
Preferred Requirements and Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or international affairs (Master’s preferred).
* 1+ years of internship/professional experience in financial services, research, or management consulting.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
* Strong organizational skills.
* Interest in financial services, technology and innovation, blockchain, and digital assets.
* Strategic and creative skills in project management, community management, research, writing, and presentation.
* Experience working on matters involving administrative and coordination support.
* Familiarity with Salesforce, MS Office Suite, etc.
