Quality Control Manager
Location: Dubai, UAE

The Position
The position is based in Dubai, UAE and will report directly to the Quality Head, Acino Pharmaceuticals FZ LLC, UAE. The role is responsible for leading the quality control functions within the organization and overseeing the operations of the Quality Control lab for raw materials, packing materials, finished products, and stability analysis, ensuring high standards of quality and adherence to all quality systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure the development of departmental SOPs (writing, revising, and approving) and ensure regulatory compliance.
* Conduct thorough reviews of analytical data and escalate issues through the relevant tier processes.
* Continuously improve local work procedures and capture efficiency gains.
* Conduct risk assessments for analytical activities and enforce procedural improvements.
* Approve instrument qualification documents in line with regulatory requirements.
* Review and approve protocols and reports such as method validation and stability studies.
* Report any risks to compliance or product quality to the quality head.
* Approve all change controls, deviations, and CAPA arising from the quality control laboratory.
* Ensure completion of method transfer and method validation/verification before routine testing.
* Prepare and maintain the calibration schedule for QC equipment.
* Manage all validation activities, including strategy and approval of protocols and reports.
* Investigate discrepancies, errors, OOS, and OOT actions; ensure the Quality Control department meets budget and efficiency targets.
* Identify resource and skill gaps and recruit staff as needed.
* Lead a team of professionals and provide training on quality policies and procedures.
* Implement and ensure compliance with current GMP, safety, and GLP norms in laboratory testing areas.
* Maintain awareness of current guidelines, policies, and techniques in quality control.
* Ensure compliance and safety in the laboratory.
* Allocate work appropriately among team members and optimize resource utilization.
* Review and approve specifications, SOPs, trends, and technical reports.
* Review and approve packing materials, raw materials, and finished products.
* Review and approve QC documents.
* Ensure appropriate training for subordinates to enhance analytical skills and competency.
* Provide usage decisions for tested samples.
* Perform due diligence and evaluation of new product introductions.
* Utilize Process Excellence tools (Lean, Six Sigma) to improve operational performance.
* Perform any other work assigned by the Quality Head.

Who You Are
* Bachelor’s/Master’s in Pharmacy or a Master’s degree in Science (with an analytical chemistry background).
* Experience in pharmaceutical products and processes.
* Strong leadership and team management skills.
* Credible and confident communicator (written and verbal) at all levels.
* Strategic thinker with the ability to influence.
* High level of ethics and integrity.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
* Relevant experience in the regulated pharmaceutical industry.
* Experience with health authority inspections and third-party audits.
* Technical writing skills.
