Develop innovative designs of miniaturized radio frequency (RF) connectors and cable assemblies, using various technologies and skills from micromechanics and precision engineering in combination with classical mechanical engineering
Plan and execute product development projects
Directly participate in the development/implementation of new technologies, processes, product concepts and products in collaboration with product management and in close coordination with strategy & business development, process engineering specialists and/or customers and suppliers, using innovative design approaches, materials and production processes
Proactively support the team to expand and increase expertise in the design of miniaturized electro-mechanical systems (especially RF connectors), application of new technologies and use of micro-assembly processes, methodologies and tools
Apply design for manufacturing, design for assembly, and design to cost approaches
Perform mechanical and/or electrical design and simulation tasks using CAD and FEM tools
Participate in the creation/maintenance of documents in PDM and ERP systems, e.g. data sheets, BOM, overview drawings, part drawings, control plans and tolerance chain analysis
Perform hands-on tasks as required in the development of new products, test methods and production processes
Your profile Bachelor's/Master's degree in mechanical engineering, microsystems design/technology, physics, electrical engineering or equivalent
Good understanding of industrial (micro)manufacturing and assembly processes, including approaches for making of functional samples, prototypes and series production
Proficient in using 2D & 3D CAD systems (preferably of CATIA) or/and FEM tools (e.g. Ansys) in the process of designing new products
Strong project management skills with a proven track record
Technical expertise in one or more areas such as MEMS development, RF technology, system design & manufacturing processes (including CAD / simulation / modeling / testing) or similar
Theoretical and practical knowledge of RF/microwave technology and/or product know-how related to RF cables, connectors and assemblies would be considered a strong advantage
Strong problem solving and analytical skills, customer focus and internal drive to deliver practical industrial solutions
Innovative thinker with a passion to deliver high impact results
Good communication skills in an R&D environment, open-minded and good presentation skills
Good English skills required (written and spoken)
IT skills: at least good knowledge of Microsoft, CAD, FEM simulation, desirable experience with PDM, ERP
