Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a seasoned Data Strategy Consultant to collaborate with Executive Leadership, Finance, Legal, Marketing, Product, and Engineering teams over a 12-week engagement. The consultant will design a robust data strategy and execution roadmap aligned with their organizational goals, providing a foundation for scalable and actionable data usage that complies with relevant privacy laws, including but not limited to the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
Key Responsibilities:
Discovery and Assessment:
* Assess the current state of data infrastructure, tools, and processes.
* Identify key business objectives and corresponding data needs.
* Conduct a gap analysis to pinpoint areas for improvement.
* Define a strategic plan encompassing data governance, infrastructure, analytics, compliance, and data engineering practices.
* Develop a framework for long-term scalability and adaptability.
Execution Plan:
* Develop a high-level, phased execution plan to implement the data strategy, progressing from the current state to the target state.
* Identify and document the optimal team size and structure for the Data Organization, including roles, levels, and job descriptions required for execution.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Senior-Level Expertise:
* Proven track record as a Senior Data Strategy Consultant or in a similar role.
* Extensive experience managing data transformation projects.
* Demonstrated success in stakeholder engagement and delivering structured documentation (e.g., assessments, strategies, execution plans).
Technical Assessments:
* Expertise in conducting assessments of existing data ecosystems and creating actionable improvement plans.
Industry Knowledge:
* Familiarity with best practices and challenges in legal technology or related fields.
Consulting Background:
* Experience working with external clients under defined contracts and terms.
Required Skills:
* Expertise in designing and implementing comprehensive data strategies.
* Knowledge of data governance, infrastructure, analytics, compliance, and engineering best practices.
Technical Proficiency:
* Strong understanding of data infrastructure and tools.
* Ability to conduct gap analyses and identify system improvement areas.
Leadership and Collaboration:
* Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Executive Leadership, Finance, Legal, Marketing, Product, and Engineering.
Privacy and Compliance:
* In-depth knowledge of relevant privacy laws, such as CCPA.
Analytics and Insights:
* Skilled in structuring and formatting data for efficient searching and insight generation.
* Experience developing long-term, scalable, and adaptable data frameworks.
Execution Planning:
* Proficiency in creating phased execution plans.
* Expertise in defining team structures, roles, and responsibilities for data implementation and management.
Business Acumen:
* Strong understanding of aligning data strategies with business goals, including creating connected membership experiences and expanding B2B platforms.
Optional Skills:
* Familiarity with Estate Planning, Trusts, and Wills is a plus.
