The role of Software Engineer in Measurement Systems and Electronics involves contributing to the development and improvement of software applications within the Research and Technology department.
Located at our headquarters in Winterthur, Switzerland, we are looking for a skilled professional to join our team.
Your Responsibilities
* We are seeking an experienced engineer to plan, develop, test, maintain, and service software applications in the field of measurement systems.
* Key responsibilities include concept creation, definition of requirements and specifications, and project planning for new measurement systems or expansion of existing software components.
* Maintaining a culture of innovation is essential, therefore proposing and promoting improvements and innovations for software and measurement systems is highly valued.
* Responsibilities also include maintaining and updating source code management and build automation.
* Administration of licensing for software applications is another important task.
* Supporting high quality and on-time delivery of measurement systems to customers regarding software and hardware installation is crucial.
Your Qualifications
* A degree in software engineering or similar is required.
* Prior experience of two years is preferred.
* Fundamental knowledge of programming languages (NetBeans, Java, C/C++, Visual Studio, Python, Matlab), build automation (Maven/Ant), debugging, software testing, source code management (Azure DevOps, Git) is necessary.
* Good understanding of measurement systems and data acquisition, preferably with National Instruments PXI systems (NI DAQmx, LabWindows/CVI).
* Basic knowledge of electronics and sensor technology is required.
* Applied physics and mathematics should be well understood.
* A general interest in physical testing and carrying out measurements is expected.
* Excellent teamwork, self-motivation, problem-solving skills, hands-on mentality, and good communication skills in German and English are essential.
