Biospecimen Associate (m/f/d)
The Biospecimen Acquisition & Management team (BAM) team at Roche Diagnostics International (RDI) leads the acquisition and management of biological materials and clinical samples with associated data designed to facilitate and advance local R&D activities. BAM collaborates with various Life Cycle Teams, Projects, and Functional Areas to ensure that customer requirements for biological materials are agreed to, via formal established processes, communicated to on a periodic basis, and met per commitment in compliance with Good Laboratory Practices, Good Clinical Data Management Practices, Quality, and Business standards.
The biospecimen specialist will manage the end to end biorepository activities to fulfill our customer's specimen request within Roche Diagnostic Solutions (RDS).
This position will be based at the RDI campus located in Rotkreuz, Switzerland.
The perfect candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Science and brings experience in handling biological specimens & willingness to work with potentially infectious biological material. The candidate has knowledge in MS Excel and Google suite. The person speaks fluent English and German is a plus.
Your Tasks & Responsibilities:
* Manages and performs biological material supply, receipt, registration, shipment, returns, verification activities, retrievals, inventory searches, and identifies and resolves discrepancies in a validated environment - to meet stakeholder and/or business needs
* Collaborates with the relevant permitting agencies, import/export compliance and local Safety and Biorepository Teams to comply with permit requirements
* Maintain information in a validated laboratory information management system compliant with GxP principles and standards
* Assumes responsibility for accuracy, quality, and timeliness of work within supported projects and responding appropriately to changing priorities
Your Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Science
* Experience in handling biological specimens & willingness to work with potentially infectious biological material (Biosafety level 2)
* Proficient with MS Excel and Google suite
* English B2 Level
* Able to lift 30lbs, work in cold environment with limited daylight, stand for long periods of time and climb ladders
* Self-motivated and solution driven individual who can maintain quality, accuracy and timeliness of deliverables
* Ability to follow standard procedures and strong understanding of the concept of biospecimen traceability
* Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with efficiency; and capable of handling multiple projects
* Good organizational, written and verbal communication skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills and stakeholder management
* Team player, self organized and motivated individual
* Meticulous attention to detail
Nice to Have:
* Experience in biospecimen acquisition, biobanking, clinical trial management, interfacing with stakeholders and/or project management
* Experience in research, diagnostics, pharmaceutical, CRO or medical device industry
* Experience in the use of LIMS or other validated systems
* Understanding of regulatory requirements related to diagnostics
* German
