The Opportunity
As Chief of Staff/Business Operations Lead - Group Safety, Health & Environment (SHE), your primary responsibility is to ensure the efficiency of the Group SHE Enabling Team (GSHE ET) and Group SHE department overall. You will provide strategic support to the Chief SHE Officer and play a crucial role in maintaining process adherence and organizational efficiency.
In collaboration with the Chief SHE Officer and the GSHE ET, you will:
1. Design and drive organizational goals and cross-functional initiatives
2. Develop and co-create an operations framework that ensures process adherence and accountability
3. Measure, improve and deliver organizational effectiveness in Group SHE
4. Foster collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
In this role, you will report to the Chief SHE Officer, be a member of the Group SHE Enabling Team, and be a key partner of the Chief SHE Officer in terms of presentations, briefings, and strategic and operational support.
You will also be a driving force and key influencer for global SHE initiatives and a connector across the entire Roche organization.
Your main responsibilities could include:
1. Develop, maintain and continuously improve Group SHE business processes, holding teams and individuals accountable for following them.
2. Collaborate and work closely with the Chief SHE Officer as well as GSHE ET members to ensure alignment and integration at the functional and organizational level, while driving/measuring operational effectiveness.
3. Prepare, coordinate and document GSHE ET meetings, including the actions and decisions log. Hold GSHE ET members responsible for closing designated actions.
4. Accountable for the demand/prioritization and budget planning processes (and other core processes as required) for GSHE as a whole, ensuring they are rigorously followed.
5. Ensure that all Chief SHE Officer presentations, information, and messages are adapted and shaped for the respective audience including key internal and external stakeholders (CEC, Corporate Governance and Sustainability Committee, Corporate Strategy and Sustainability Leadership Team, investor groups, regulators etc).
6. As an experienced leader, support and drive the realization of the Global SHE vision, strategy and associated long/mid/short term outcomes.
7. Lead cross-functional activities and strategic initiatives as needed.
8. Implement/deliver relevant KPIs to monitor GSHE value to business stakeholders.
Who you are
1. You have an MBA/Master’s degree in Business Administration, business process design or similar.
2. You have several years of experience in a Business Process Owner, Chief of Staff or consultancy position, ideally in a Healthcare environment.
3. You have significant project leadership/project management experience.
4. You are a strategic thinker with excellent written and oral communications in English.
5. You radically simplify complex topics with clarity, credibility and with the right message for different target groups/stakeholder requirements.
6. You have the ability to lead cross-functional teams in a complex, global organization without direct reporting lines.
7. Solid leadership experience in leading, coaching and developing people and teams, and demonstrating VACC leadership competencies.
