IT Support

Key Responsibilities of IT Support at Mosaic
1. Manage the procurement of technology systems.
2. Lead the technology team in providing service desk support for staff and students with technology-based educational programs that enhance the delivery of teaching and learning.
3. Prepare and manage the technology infrastructure budget and account for technology fixed assets.
4. Coordinate technology infrastructure and support requirements with academic technology staff, and provide technical support for technology development projects in the school.
5. Work closely with academic technology staff in management and control of teaching software purchases, databases, and configuration control of staff devices.
6. Provide technical support to regional technology infrastructure projects for schools and new facility development ensuring consistency in implementation and policy.
7. Direct daily maintenance to ensure maximum reliability and minimum service interruption.
8. Manage installation of required updates on infrastructure and client systems.
9. Maintain core services.
10. Recommend and implement changes and system enhancements to improve the network.
11. Set up, install and maintain desktops and laptops in the school.
12. Ensure standard configurations across the deployed systems.
13. Directly and with third-party vendors manage the repair and servicing of equipment.
14. Ensure all software is properly licensed.
15. Manage the installation and upgrade schedules for educational and business software.
16. Provide technical support for school management, accounting and educational software.
17. Ensure all LANs and VPNs are secure from both electronic and physical intrusion.
18. Review and maintain a proper level of access and password control.
19. Ensure data integrity through routine database scans.
20. Establish a disaster recovery plan.
21. Guarantee network data is backed up on a daily basis.
22. Work with third-party vendors to ensure the printing equipment runs smoothly.
23. Maintain the school’s inventory of audio/visual equipment.
24. Provide training for both educational and business applications as needed.
25. Ensure proper procedures are in place to respond to teaching and admin staff requests in a timely manner.
26. Analyze problems, develop solutions, arrange preventive measures and maintain clear and consistent communications with internal customers on technology issues.
General Requirements
1. Maintain an inventory of all technology equipment and licenses.
2. Ensure consistent documentation of the operating environment.
3. Develop the annual technology plan and budget with the regional Head of Technology.
4. Evaluate and set standards for hardware and software.
5. Develop change management schemes that smooth the transition to new equipment and procedures earning speedy acceptance of new equipment and upgrades.
6. Perform general technology-related duties as required.
7. The IT support holds primary responsibility within location for technology and technology-related issues.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
1. Have a minimum of 3 years technology systems and operations management experience.
2. Experience with technology infrastructure budgets and cost management.
3. Must be able to read, analyze and interpret computer hardware and systems management technical manuals and procedures.
4. Strong personal skills to communicate directly with end users in sometimes tense situations.
5. Good written and verbal English.
6. Strong initiative, integrity and good judgment.
7. Fast problem-solving skills in new situations.
8. Desire experience of leading and managing technology-based projects and vendors.
9. Technology systems and operations management experience.
10. Apple OS and related technologies.
11. Desire Network management experience including LAN/VPN.
12. Desire experience managing network policies and protocols including firewall configuration, content filtering, and related technologies.
