About our client: Our client is a global multinational in the packaging industry. Location: The role can be either based in Denmark or in Sweden. It is a home-based job, with the possibility to work as well on-site, if there is a convenient commuting to any of the company sites in Denmark or Sweden. The position would require regular travel across the Nordics region (Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland) and some sporadic travel to the Baltics region as well. Job description: In the context of a succession planning, we are looking for a Sales Director Nordics, who would report into the Sales Director Europe and lead a small team of 5-6 Sales Area Managers across the region. The core focus of the business in in food retail packaging and there is as well a smaller industrial packaging segment which is in the scope as well. Role Key Duties & Responsibilities Develop and implement the sales strategy for the Nordics to achieve sales development goals and revenues. This includes responsibility for price, product mix and gross margin plans, as well as budgeting, forecasting and reporting (annual, quarterly and monthly). Conduct market research, competitor and customer analysis in order to identify sales opportunities and areas of growth. Lead, coach and develop a team across multiple locations in the region to ensure they are delivering against key business metrics. This includes the setting of comprehensive performance and growth goals for individuals in the team and the evaluation of activities and performance by analysing and interpreting data and metrics. Work closely with the Sales, Operations, Technical, Customer Service and Marketing teams to ensure internal and external performance expectations are met. Participate in expansion activities (CAPEX investments, acquisitions, corporate alliances etc.). Look for methods (processes and systems) to improve quality, efficiency and productivity, reduce costs, increase profits, or improve control measures. Candidate profile: We are looking for a senior professional with a degree in business, engineering or science and at least 10 years of professional experience and at least 3 years of experience in a managerial role leading a sales organization. We are targeting professionals with a solid background in the packaging industry in any Nordic country, experience in food packaging would be an advantage. A previous experience in a regional role, with a scope covering multiple countries across the Nordics would be preferred. We expect a background in an international, cross-cultural, dynamic and fast changing business environment. Apart from core sales hard skills, we are looking for people that have acquired other important business and technical skills like: risk management, compliance, regulatory, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, market research, etc. In terms of competences, these would be the most important: People leadership skills Ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities and make decisions.
