Main Purpose: The IT Murex Front Office Business Analyst will act as subject master expert (SME) in a global commodity trading company with operations across multiple geographies.
This role is critical in supporting trading, deal desk and risk departments, ensuring seamless integration of Murex solutions, and enhancing system functionalities to meet business needs. The ideal candidate will work closely with traders, quantitative analysts, risks and IT teams to optimize Murex capabilities for front-office trading and risk management.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities, Key Responsibilities:
Education & Experience:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, or a related field.
* 10+ years of experience as a Murex Business Analyst in front-office environments.
* Hands-on experience with E-tradepad, LiveBook, Market Data, Risk matrices and post-trade functionalities. MxML workflow, pre-trade experience is a plus.
* Proven ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced trading environment, managing multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
* Demonstrated experience in supporting Murex front office users in a global or multinational environment.
Skills & Competencies:
* Expertise in Murex trade booking, position management, risk, pricing, and simulation modules.
* In-depth knowledge of financial instruments, including derivatives, commodities, fixed income, and equities.
* Solid understanding of pricing models and risk concepts such as PnL, VaR, and sensitivities/greeks.
* Knowledge of SQL, Unix/Linux, and scripting for troubleshooting and automation.
* Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to issue resolution.
* Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across different teams/regions.
Work Environment:
* This position typically operates in a professional office environment. Some travel may be required depending on project needs and stakeholder locations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Requirement Analysis: Gather, document, and analyse complex business requirements, including trade booking, pricing, risk management, and P&L reporting needs for Murex implementation.
* System Configuration: Configure and optimise Murex modules to align with our front-office trading strategies and ensure optimal system performance.
* Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with traders, quants, risk to align Murex functionalities with business goals interacting closely with our internal IT teams, Murex and our system integrator.
* Testing & Validation: Design and validate test cases to ensure system accuracy and performance.
* Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve system bugs, workflow inefficiencies, and pricing discrepancies in collaboration with our Global Application Support team.
* Enhancement Implementation: Support the integration of new financial products, PnL and risks monitoring, and compliance frameworks into the Murex based on the constant feedback from the front office users.
* Training & Documentation: Provide ongoing training and share best practices establishing and maintaining a close relationship with the Murex front office users.
* Continuous Improvement: Continuously monitor front-office processes and workflows, identifying areas for enhancement and efficiency improvements.

* Close relationships with senior business stakeholders and key users within the derivatives space.
* Robust collaborative relationships across the entire IT organisation, working with IT management, programme managers, project managers, analysts, architects, developers, testing and training teams.
