Job Description:
The Programme Responsible plays a crucial role in MSF's operations, ensuring the overall relevance, timeliness, and quality of assistance for populations in danger.
Key Responsibilities:
* Steer the operations' planning cycle, respecting transversal internal processes and translating MSF policies into action.
* Manage the cell team, prioritize collective decision making, and ensure proper learning and development support.
* IDentify key medical and humanitarian stakes within each mission and project, prioritizing them and determining MSF's public position.
* Establish a network of relevant contacts to stay informed about the environment in tense contexts.
* Monitor exposure to risk affecting teams in the field and validate security frames proposed by heads of mission.
* Supervise, advise, and evaluate heads of mission in their global responsibilities and duties.
* Organize headquarter support for field operations, optimizing input, expertise, and control functions from different departments.
* Implement programmes and monitor the good running of missions, providing feedback and timely reporting on operations.
Your Profile:
Education:
* Background in Medicine or non-Medical fields with a university-level diploma or equivalent professional experience.
Experience:
* Successful experience as an MSF Head of Mission, Medical Coordinator, or Emergency Coordinator.
* Expertise in analysing and managing unstable contexts and crisis situations, with knowledge of medical, social, economic, and political issues in countries undergoing humanitarian crises.
Languages:
* Fluent English and French are mandatory; a 3rd language is an advantage.
Personal Abilities:
* Dynamic and flexible with a capacity for taking initiative and making decisions.
* Able to analyse and summarise information, set priorities, and manage stress effectively.
* Excellent communication and public speaking skills, with high level representation and diplomatic abilities.
* Strategic planning and orientation skills, with an aptitude for conceiving and planning medical programmes.
Terms of Employment:
* Full-time position (100% - 40 hours/week).
* Mandated position, 3-year term renewable once, maximum 6 years.
* Working place: Geneva, with very frequent travels (up to 3 months abroad per year).
* Gross annual salary: from CHF 109,560.- to CHF 124,980.- (salary commensurate with equivalent experience and internal salary grid).
