The Department:
Manufacturing Science & Technology (MSAT) Emerging Technologies plays a key role in driving technology innovation for the J&J Innovative Medicine Supply Chain.
Emerging Technologies is responsible for the definition of new opportunities, breakthrough-technologies scouting, lab-scale proof-of-principle studies, and demonstrating proof-of-concept at large scale.
The Team:
Our team develops and delivers projects that are primarily related to two key MSAT strategic pillars: Process Intensification and Integrated Quality & Real-Time Release.
To accelerate the delivery of proof-of-principle & proof-of-concept packages for Manufacturing of Large Molecules / Biologics, we are looking for a lab-based contractor in Schaffhausen.
Responsibilities:
* Support advanced technology projects for process intensification of biopharmaceutical manufacturing through preparation, design, and execution of proof-of-principle and proof-of-concept studies.
* Lab equipment set up and preparation of continuous manufacturing studies for large molecule API.
* PoP (lab-scale) and PoC (at-scale) study design, execution, and reporting.
* Preparation of and starting GMP integration activities.
* Knowledge management & creation of documentation standards.
* Support other activities in the team and work area according to appropriate procedures, values, and standards on an ad-hoc basis as the need arises.
* Support the Large Molecule Drug Product Innovation Community.
Qualifications / Education:
* MSc in an engineering or scientific field (preferred Biotechnology or Pharmaceutical related). Past exposure to continuous manufacturing in a lab or GMP setting is a plus.
How to succeed:
* 4 years or more industrial or lab work experience in Biopharmaceutical Industry or equivalent.
* Past shown field experience with Large Molecule Drug Substance processing, focusing on:
* Chromatography experience such as: Protein A, Cationic, Anionic, Bind-Elute, including pH/conductivity adjustments, and Flow Through.
* Virus Filtration.
* UFDF / SPTFF.
* Experience with Unicorn programming as required to control and troubleshoot lab equipment.
Preferred:
* PhD degree in engineering or scientific field (preferred Biotechnology or Pharmaceutical related).
* Experience with Continuous Manufacturing concepts.
* Experience with PAT tools and sensors.
