Job Responsibilities
* Responsible for the development of national medical strategy in the area of rare disease.
* Proactive and reactive provision of relevant medical, indication, and product-specific information to relevant stakeholders, brand team, physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other relevant HCPs.
* Create, communicate, and implement a strategic publication plan in coordination with the global publication strategy.
* Build strong, sustainable partnerships with relevant partners (physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other HCPs) and a thought leader network.
* Engage with professional societies to implement medical scientific partnerships.
* Serve as the medical and scientific representative of the company at national and international congresses, symposia, investigator meetings, and similar events.
* Conceptualize, budget, initiate, and follow up on medical projects; act as an expert in rare disease and propose actively.
* Provide medical expertise in cross-functional collaboration (local brand team).
* Advise internal stakeholders on product-specific and other medical requests; ensure proper documentation of relevant medical insights into designated internal documentation tools and prepare medical statements and drug information.
* Provide close support to specialist departments (Regulatory, Market Access, PV) and assist in the release of promotional and medical information material.
* Plan, design, and execute medical education events for physicians, nurses, etc. (e.g., advisory boards, round table meetings, symposia).
Minimum Requirements
* Medical or scientific background, preferably with an MD or PhD; work experience in medical affairs, ideally also in a field-based role.
* Experience in gastrointestinal/hepatology.
* Deep understanding and capability to identify and proactively gather strategically relevant insights via different channels.
* Ability to engage a broad set of healthcare stakeholders in the highest level of scientific exchange, tailored to individual needs/preferences.
* Experienced in setting up valuable engagement and communication plans reflecting cross-functional work.
* Understanding and capability to communicate scientific data (clear, concise, and succinct).
* Ability to work cross-functionally with a limited number of stakeholder functions.
* Familiar with Swiss compliance regulations.
* Good understanding of the Swiss pharmaceutical market; strong communication skills, independent and proactive way of working.
* Fluent in German and English; French is an advantage.
