Our client, a leading pharmaceutical company in Valais, Switzerland, is looking for a Procurement professional with a background in automation to join their team on a long-term contract.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement category strategies for automation procurement in capital projects across multiple sites.
* Manage supplier relationships, monitor market trends, and assess risks to ensure strategic sourcing.
* Oversee procurement of hardware, software, and licensing models for automation and instrumentation.
* Lead and execute complex RFx processes, ensuring alignment with procurement strategies.
* Support cost analysis, category benchmarking, and procurement process improvements.
* Ensure compliance with industry regulations (GMP, FDA) and mitigate supply chain risks.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise procurement efficiency and cost savings.
* Maintain procurement plans, reporting on lead times, pricing trends, and supplier performance.
* Work in a hybrid model with site visits and occasional travel to supplier locations.
* Ideal candidates have procurement experience in automation technologies such as OT, DCS, MES, PLC, SCADA, PAT, and HMI.
Qualifications:
* Degree or training in engineering, business, project management, or supply chain. Certifications (e.g., CIPS, Six Sigma) are a plus.
* 2–3 years in procurement or supply chain, ideally in pharma/biotech. Interest or experience in procurement automation is beneficial.
