swissQuant is looking for a skilled and dedicated Finance Controller to join the finance team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing all accounting and reporting processes across swissQuant.
As a co-lead in the Finance department, you will collaborate cross-departmentally with teams such as Sales, HR, Engineering, and Marketing.
Responsibilities
Accounting
Responsible for recording and reviewing general ledger journal entries for more complex areas, including foreign exchange areas and internal-use software and website development costs.
Responsible for review of revenue reconciliation, including ultimate revenue entry and cost of goods sold entries.
Responsible for preparation of general ledger account reconciliations of key and complex accounts.
Responsible for review of general ledger account reconciliations performed by staff accountant or external accounting function.
Supervision of staff accountant and other accounting staff members and external functions.
Responsible for cash management in conjunction with CFO.
Lead external financial audit.
Lead global tax reporting and administration.
Work with staff accountant on the management and administration of supplier payments.
Review AP, including invoice voucher postings and payment posting to the general ledger.
Back up for review and approval of AP payments (including releasing electronic payments and global wires).
Assist with financial review and resolve accounting discrepancies.
Finance
Co-lead reporting, planning and annual budget preparation with CFO.
Responsible for preparation of monthly, quarterly and YTD financial statements.
Work closely with other departments to prepare quarterly and annual forecasts.
Prepare and maintain standard and ad hoc reports, queries, and conduct appropriate audits to ensure data integrity and relevant communication with the organization.
Administration and Legal & Business Affairs
Co-lead all HR related accounting, payroll and benefits processes.
Act as liaison between departments and Legal & Business Affairs function to ensure and facilitate the preparation, management and completion of all business contracts and legal documents as required.
Work closely with external legal and business affairs partners to ensure seamless workflow between swissQuant and clients for all legal and contract matters.
Requirements
Graduate level degree in Accounting.
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory experience.
Excellent technical accounting and finance knowledge, reporting skills and analytical skills.
Excellent English and German language skills.
Ability to multi-task and adapt to a fast-paced changing environment.
Experience in internationally operating SaaS business.
The ability to interact with senior level management using strong communication and presentation skills.
A hunger to learn and ability to flourish in a dynamic, high-growth, entrepreneurial environment.
Entrepreneurial, self-starter with hands-on approach.
Eligible to live and work in Switzerland with flexibility to travel to the Zurich office.
Strongly Desired
Eidg. dipl. Experte in Rechnungslegung or equivalent certification with public accounting experience and exposure to international accounting standards.
Experience in technology or software related businesses.
Tax experience and experience with international tax considerations.
Fundraising and institutional international investors experience.
