Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Finance Lawyer to join its team based in Geneva. Over the last 25 years, this organisation has grown to become one of the largest and most geographically diverse businesses in the world.
The Role
The Senior Finance Lawyer will play a crucial role in structuring, drafting, and negotiating finance agreements at both the holding and subsidiary level. You will negotiate new concessions with a focus on bankability aspects and providing expert legal advice to key stakeholders on various subjects.
Responsibilities:
Structuring and providing expert legal advice on financial transactions, including financing and refinancing of acquisitions, general corporate and major infrastructure projects such as greenfield and expansion.
Drafting and negotiating finance agreements involving commercial bank debt, debt capital market transactions, multilateral financing, and equipment leasing.
Managing currency and interest rate hedging.
Ensuring compliance with finance agreement terms and proposing effective solutions in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external shareholders through a tactful and diplomatic approach.
Requirements:
Master’s Degree in Law.
Proven experience in negotiating and drafting financing agreements with commercial banks, institutional investors, and multilateral institutions.
Common Law experience and knowledge of Loan Market Association standard documentation and templates.
10-12 years of work experience on major infrastructure projects, preferably within a law firm, bank, BIG Four, or corporate legal department.
Project finance experience is highly desirable.
Excellent command of both written and spoken English; knowledge of French is highly desirable.
Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with joint venture partners and achieve consensus outcomes through a tactful and diplomatic style.
Ability to thrive in a high-paced and dynamic environment.
