Electrical Safety Solutions Business Unit (ESS)
The ESS business unit is our largest department. We are seeking an ambitious Business Development Manager/Developer to lead growth initiatives and drive financial success through sales boosters and market assessments.
Main Responsibilities
* Develop and implement a comprehensive growth strategy for ESS, covering existing and new products for railway, renewable energy, and industrial applications to ensure sustainable business growth.
* Identify business opportunities, provide market insights, and navigate the product roadmap to inform R&D activities and support the sales team in increasing sales effectiveness.
* Collaborate with product line managers, product development, and the sales team to develop product economics.
* Establish a growth strategy focused on both growth and financial objectives in close collaboration with the sales organization.
* Conduct market research and analysis to identify opportunities in railway, industrial, and renewable energy applications, guide the development of new business segments, and inform the product roadmap.
* Develop business cases for individual products in cooperation with product line managers and the sales team.
* Define, drive, and track implementation of corresponding action plans with the sales team and product line managers.
* Prepare product launch and market placement plans in cooperation with marketing, sales, and product line managers.
* Conduct comparative analysis of competitors' products to support the sales network's promotional efforts and provide input to product line managers.
* Gather key information for the business and organize business meetings with prospective clients to develop business opportunities.
* Provide market feedback to product development teams and after-sales support.
Requirements
* Techincal degree in electrical engineering or power electronics.
* Further education in industrial product marketing/business administration desirable.
* At least 10 years experience as international Business Developer in industrial B2B environment.
* SUCCESSFUL TRACK RECORD introducing power products to new clients, driving key people across the organization.
* Proven working experience as successful business development manager/developer on an international scale.
* Good knowledge of at least one of the following industry sectors: high voltage, railway traction systems, power transmission & distribution, renewable energy and e-mobility.
* Interest and ability to understand DC and AC power systems and corresponding product needs.
* Excellent analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills.
* Outstanding communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
* Ability to develop convincing communication strategies based on technical rationale.
* Proven ability to think creatively, identify and resolve problems.
* Experienced to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* High integrity and trustworthiness, open and transparent.
* Open to frequent travelling.
* Excellent communication skills in English, French, and/or German are desirable. Other languages are a plus.
