Job Purpose
We are seeking an experienced Product Manager, Attractions and Sightseeing to oversee and develop our portfolio of vacation packages that include guided tours, admission to popular attractions, culinary experiences, and more. In addition, you will manage the technology and APIs that support the seamless selling and fulfillment of these experiences. This role requires a deep understanding of the travel and tourism industry, customer preferences, and technical systems that facilitate product distribution and delivery. You will be responsible for curating, enhancing, and scaling our product offerings while ensuring the backend systems and integrations support these efforts efficiently.
Duties And Responsibilities
1. Product Development & Strategy:
o Define and drive the vision for activities and sightseeing experiences within our vacation packages.
o Work with leadership to set strategic goals that align with company objectives.
2. Supplier & Partner Management:
o Build and maintain relationships with local tour operators, attraction providers, and culinary partners to ensure high-quality experiences for our customers.
3. Market Research & Trend Analysis:
o Stay informed on travel trends, customer preferences, and competitive offerings. Use this data to enhance existing products and identify new opportunities.
4. API & Technology Management:
o Ensure that our technology solutions on the supply side including API integrations with luxury service providers, booking platforms, and other third-party systems that enable the seamless sale and fulfillment of these experiences are achieving desired sales and product goals and expectations.
o Manage the integration of APIs and other technology platforms that enable the sale, booking, and fulfillment of tours, activities, and attractions in partnership with our technology team.
o Work with external vendors and internal engineering teams to ensure API functionality, resolve issues, and optimize the performance of third-party integrations.
o Ensure data flows smoothly across systems (booking platforms, CRM, etc.) and that customer and booking information are accurately transmitted between systems.
5. Experience Curation:
o Design and curate unique, authentic, and immersive experiences that differentiate our vacation packages from competitors.
6. Cross-functional Collaboration:
o Partner with marketing, sales, operations, and customer support teams to ensure seamless promotion, sales, and delivery of each vacation package and integration of technology solutions.
7. Customer Feedback Integration:
o Gather and analyze customer feedback on activities and sightseeing experiences. Use insights to continuously improve and refine product offerings.
8. Operational Excellence:
o Ensure smooth execution of tours and activities, working closely with operations and tech teams to manage logistics, scheduling, API functionality, and customer satisfaction.
9. Pricing & Margins Optimization:
o Set and monitor pricing strategies for experiences, balancing customer value with profitability.
10. Product Launches:
o Oversee the end-to-end process of launching new vacation experiences including ensuring supporting technology and APIs are properly integrated, tested, and ready for deployment.
11. Risk Management:
o Identify operational and technical risks related to activities and sightseeing and proactively develop mitigation strategies.
12. Performance Metrics:
o Monitor and action business intelligence regarding product performance, including booking rates, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence thereby ensuring that experience standards are consistently met.
Minimum Qualifications
* 3+ years of experience in product management, travel operations, or a related field, ideally in the travel or tourism industry.
* Experience managing API integrated partnerships and familiarity with the related technology products is required.
* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Tourism, or a related field. MBA or equivalent experience is a plus.
* Strong understanding of the travel industry, including trends, customer behavior, and operational complexities of running tours and activities.
* Experience managing relationships with tour operators, attractions, and local service providers.
* Strong technical understanding of APIs, booking systems, and integrations with third-party platforms. Ability to work closely with technical teams and vendors to ensure smooth functionality.
* A deep commitment to understanding customer needs and delivering exceptional experiences.
* Proven ability to manage projects from concept to launch, coordinating cross-functional teams and managing timelines effectively.
* Strong analytical mindset with experience using data to drive product decisions and optimize performance.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly convey product vision and strategy to stakeholders, including technical and non-technical teams.
* Ability to think creatively and develop unique travel experiences that delight customers.
* Strong problem-solving skills, especially when addressing operational or technical challenges.
