JOB PURPOSE
Within our Digital Technology department, the Mobile & On-board Technical Delivery Senior Manager is responsible for managing all technological aspects of the MSC for Me, our onboard digital cross-channel platform available both pre-boarding and on-board our smart-ships.
The role oversees a team of several internal resources and a large pool of external consultants and is responsible for the overall management of existing systems (including change requests/enhancements analysis, design and development, systems operations, monitoring, maintenance, incident management, continuous improvement, etc.) as well as future platform evolutions that the company has recently envisaged, identifying the digital channels as the primary contact to enable a one-to-one communication strategy with the Guests. The scope covers both pre-boarding and onboarding phases.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Lead and manage end-to-end project lifecycles, ensuring successful delivery of technology initiatives within budget, scope, and timeline.
• Define project objectives, requirements, and deliverables according to business requirements, and create comprehensive project plans.
• Define the annual budget in collaboration with other areas of the Digital Technology Department.
• Manage demand: interact with business owners to identify and satisfy their needs and priorities, develop a deep understanding of the requirements, conduct feasibility analyses, manage capacity, budget, plan, and backlog.
• Provide guidance during the identification of solution architectures and technical solution to fulfil business needs.
• Manage operations and incidents: coordinate and manage service managers and operations teams to monitor system health and respond to incidents as needed; ensure that systems, procedures, and methodologies are in place to support outstanding service delivery.
• Execute as-is systems change requests and enhancements: UX/UI design, detailed planning, execution monitoring and issue management, reporting to business owners, delivery and release into production, countries roll-out.
• Implement project management methodologies and best practices to optimize project execution and resource utilization.
• Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies; monitor project progress and provide regular status updates and report to senior management.
• Interact with other company departments and build strong relationships with teams and internal / external stakeholders to enable effective dialogue exchange.
• Lead the technical team, including staff recruitment, performance assessment, training, and mentoring.
QUALIFICATIONS (skills, competencies, experience)
• Master / Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or IT Engineering.
• Fluent in English, any other language is an advantage.
• Solid experience, at least 15 years, of technical project management / digital transformation, in complex enterprise environments is mandatory.
• Possess a strong understanding of the technical architecture of the solution and be capable of making informed decisions regarding architecture evolution, as well as assessing the impacts of requests and decisions.
• Specific experience in web, mobile and integration architectures with a proven track record of success. Former experience of technical development, either back-end or front-end an advantage.
• Proven experience as a Project Manager in the technical industry, specifically managing complex digital platform projects with both agile and waterfall approaches.
• Proven budget management experience.
• Expertise of modern software delivery models and processes (i.e. Agile, DevOps).
• Understanding of cyber security best practices and the ability to work closely with the company's cyber security department to ensure data security and privacy.
• Working understanding of both cloud and on-premise environments and associated technologies.
• Knowledge of the Atlassian suite – Jira, and Confluence.
• Additional experience / qualifications in analysing technical performance data, Dynatrace and other application maintenance monitoring.
• Strong leadership skills, with experience in managing and developing teams of at least 20+ people.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience interacting with business owners and other key stakeholders.
• Availability to travel, up to 25% on an annual basis (mainly on-board ships and in Naples offices).
