JOB PURPOSE
Based in Geneva and reporting to the VP Global Constructions, the Project Controller will be responsible for the coordination/implementation of budgeting, cost control, and planning with each project manager across any project globally.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Cost Estimating and Budget Development - Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and other Departments to prepare budgets and cost estimates with the project managers, and manage and oversee all cost estimating and budgeting for new construction and development projects, including soft costs, hard costs, and other development-related expenses.
2. Project Scheduling - Promote a standard of planning and recurrent updates, including pre-construction and construction phases.
3. Technical Resource - Drive crosswise all the projects in different phases of advancement in the following areas:
4. Monthly Cost Analysis - Check cost progression and report any deviation, developing a control system worldwide on all the projects.
5. Monthly Budgeting - Forecast together with the Team any upcoming costs, with enough advance to plan possible mitigation and savings.
6. Planning - Based on a deep technical understanding of projects' schedules, study and update the economical advancement and cash flow plan. Contribute to keeping the timeline of upcoming projects updated.
7. Structured Support - Analyze variations and claims to better check the correct value of Change Orders.
8. Support and Guidance - Provide support and guidance to external Cost Estimators.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Master's degree in civil engineering or similar education.
2. Highly motivated and deadline-driven with project management skills.
3. 10+ years' experience in construction projects (airports, commercial real estate, cruise terminals, hotels, mixed-use facilities).
4. Experience in port infrastructure construction (breakwaters, quays walls, dredging, etc.) is a plus.
5. Ability to work independently.
6. Self-starter who can implement processes and drive accountability for the department.
7. Exceptional organisational skills including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in different locations.
8. Attention to detail and ability to work consistently and accurately.
9. Team player with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organisation.
10. Fluent in English; knowledge of any other language is an advantage.
11. Ability to multitask and flexibility to change strategy.
12. Willingness to take the initiative.
13. Medium-high capability to work under pressure.
14. The position will require regular visits to construction sites to monitor progress.
VISA REQUIREMENTS
EU Passport or right to work in Switzerland.
