The World Economic Forum engages with the foremost government, business, academia and media leaders, to shape global, regional and industry agenda through public-private cooperation. The Global Programming Group (GPG) is the team responsible for the Forum’s institutional meetings, overseeing their strategy, architecture, design, programs, and execution.
Reporting Lines & Interactions
This role will report to the Head of Event Engagement and Strategy with dotted lines to Deputy Head of Editorial within the Global Programming Group. The candidate will oversee a new accredited programme that will be rolled out as early as AM25. Within the Global Programming Group, the role will work closely with the Event Management, Event Design, and Strategy and Engagement units. Outside of the Global Programming Group, the role will work closely with Business Engagement and Business Services teams.
This role requires a high degree of internal collaboration and regular engagement with Forum Leadership to align editorial priorities across platforms and institutional.
Breakdown of Main Responsibilities
Build guidelines, a governance framework, and relevant processes for the development and deployment of a new accredited programme.
Lead editorial reviews of sessions submissions in line with editorial guidelines and according to institutional criteria, providing relevant recommendations to GPG leadership team.
Maintain an overarching view of the accredited programme vis-à-vis Forum official programme across institutional events to ensure their complementarity.
Support relevant internal stakeholders with trainings or onboarding sessions on the accredited programme.
Interact, when necessary, with Partners to answer any queries about the new programme.
Work closely with IT team to test new technical developments on the Forum Live App.
The Successful Candidate will be assessed on
Stewarding the new accredited programme, building relevant guidelines, governance framework and processes, and ensure a thorough editorial review of accredited sessions.
Close collaboration with business and IT teams.
Developing a strong understanding of the Forum’s mission and aligning accredited programme with Centres’ impact priorities.
Conducting thorough post-event debriefs to refine future strategies, demonstrating a keen interest in innovation and improvement.
Effective interpersonal and negotiation skills, including verbal and written communications and presentations to internal and external audiences.
Close collaboration with the broader Forum ecosystem, and ability to navigate the complexity of a matrix organization.
Preferred Requirements and Experience
4+ years of relevant professional experience, including hands-on experience with programme development for large events with a global audience, ideally engaging business, government, and non-profit audiences in international environments.
Advanced university degree in business, media, communications, economics, journalism, or other relevant fields.
Proven track record of outstanding project management and coordination, and negotiation skills.
A problem-solving mindset and proven experience at identifying the strategically salient questions and marshalling the data required to answer them.
Excellent team collaboration, relationship development, and operational skills.
Proven experience thriving in a multicultural work setting that is highly collaborative and fast-paced; flexibility and the ability to embrace ambiguity is a must.
Fluency in English, with excellent written, digital and verbal communication skills; knowledge of other languages would be an asset.
Mastery of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word); experience with Salesforce a significant plus.
