Field Applications Scientist (Switzerland) Job Overview
The Field Application Scientist (FAS) is responsible for ensuring the successful demonstration of our technology to potential new customers. This role involves planning and executing proof-of-concept instrument demonstrations and providing technical support throughout the sales process. The FAS provides in-depth technical expertise to shape and articulate the value proposition of our technology based on customer-specific applications and works closely with the Technical Sales Specialist (TSS) to technically secure sales. The FAS takes a customer-focused approach to support our customers on their applications, implementing solutions, and may rapidly prototype mini-applications to demonstrate feasibility and validate product capabilities.
Additionally, the FAS supports the broader sales team at workshops, trade shows, conferences, and various digital events within the assigned territory or markets. Reporting to the EMEA Regional Sales Manager, the FAS is an integral part of Refeyn’s Global Applications Team, collaborating to share knowledge, experience, and training.

Primary responsibilities for this role include:
Provide technical consultancy on the use of mass photometry in different applications.
Foster increased product usage and support sales efforts through technical presentations, product demonstrations, and running customer samples.
Production of post-demo & sample job reports.
Presentation of experimental reports in collaboration with the Technical Sales Specialist.
Design experimental plans in collaboration with the customer, and manage the administrative tasks leading to successful completion of the demonstration/sample job.
Accompany sales representatives in customer laboratories to provide technical and applications assistance.
Contribute customer feedback (report on competitors’ products) to service and marketing for future improvement of our product and services.
Support regional marketing initiatives alongside sales.
Assist in creation and review of technical literature and training resources.
Contribute to maintain accurate customer support information in our CRM (Salesforce).
Communicate effectively with customers and team members.
Provide basic and advanced training to customers.
Seek out and provide market and applications knowledge to help develop new applications on existing technology and improve existing technology to become new product.
We are ideally looking for someone with the following skills and experience:
Undergraduate Degree in a Molecular Biology Science, or similar relevant field.
Bioanalytical domain specific expertise.
Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience with high-end capital equipment.
A positive “can do” attitude.
Possesses a curious mindset coupled with a willingness to continuously acquire product and application knowledge independently.
Passionate about technology and excited about the impact of emerging technologies.
Thrives in a team environment with the ability to act autonomously when required. Able to organise their own day-to-day schedule.
Experience (basic to advanced) communicating with different audiences and cross-functional teams.
Fluent in French with outstanding English communication skills. Additional local languages (German) are advantageous.
Strong organizational and time management skills required.
Experienced Field Applications Scientist preferred.
Postgraduate Degree in a Molecular Biology Science, or similar relevant field.
3 years hands-on experience with various bioanalytical techniques.

Full driver’s license and use of own vehicle.
Valid passport and ability to complete moderate to high travel within assigned territory.
