Technical Skills required (must):
1. Database Management Systems: Comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience with database management systems such Oracle and MS SQL Server
2. Database Design and Development: Proficiency in database design principles, data modeling, and the ability to translate business requirements into efficient database structures.
3. Query Optimization: Skill in optimizing database queries for better performance and understanding the importance of indexing, normalization, and denormalization.
4. Programming Languages: Programming skills C# (Entity Framework) enabling interaction with Oracle database and integration into the target application.
5. Problem-Solving and Analytical Thinking: Proficient identifying and resolving database-related issues and possess a keen analytical mindset.
6. Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication skills are vital to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and clients.
Main Responsibilities:
7. Performance Optimization: Continuous monitoring the database performance to identify bottlenecks that could affect the application’s speed and responsiveness. The role implies fine-tune queries, indexing, partitioning and caching strategies (materialized views and others) to enhance system performance. Improve the performance of long running queries which create lots of parallel queries.
8. Database Design, Configuration and Development: Collaborating with software developers and stakeholders to design the database schema and data models. They consider factors like data structure, relationships, and indexing to create a robust foundation for the application. Database parameter configuration is also required to be able to set up the DB for high performance expectations.
9. Data Migration and Integration: Facilitate the transition from one infrastructure to another, as well as integrate data from multiple sources to facilitate smooth data migration and seamless integration.
