Senior Substation Engineer
BakerHicks are one of the leading consultancies in the power transmission and distribution sector.
You will be an experienced engineer in the design and planning of transmission level onshore substations at voltages from 110kV to 400kV.
This role involves the production of substation primary layouts, primary equipment specifications, equipment rating calculations, busbar short circuit force calculations, earthing studies, impressed voltage calculations, material specification lists, fault calculations, protection requirements, and system modelling.
Full working proficiency in German and a good level of English is required.
You will be closely supported by our highly experienced team and have opportunities to work on projects across Europe and the UK.
* Provide substation layout designs as lead substation engineer/planner.
* Work closely with design teams to ensure designs comply with local standards.
* Ensure timely delivery of design scope.
Your Profile
* Experience in producing or managing designs, calculations, reports, and drawings for HV power transmission systems, HVDC interconnectors, or HV renewable energy infrastructure in the DACH region is essential.
* Familiarity with High Voltage Substations and proficiency in German and English are required.
* Occasional travel to BakerHicks offices in Basel and London may be necessary.
Traveling Activity
The duration of our projects varies between 6 and 24 months. Depending on the project, you will work mainly at the customer's location, but mobile working from home may be possible in consultation with the project management.
