Senior Global Category Manager, Logistic

Your future role?
As a Senior Global Category Manager, you will establish a clear global M&S strategy for the respective category according to the global IM&S vision and 2025 strategy focused on business needs, bottom line and value creation. You will operate with significant autonomy, engage with key IM&S regional business stakeholders on strategic initiatives and lead cross-functional sourcing teams for Indirect Materials and Services within controlled spend.
You will be based in Kemptthal or Vernier, Switzerland (on-site role with 1 day home office opportunity/week) and will report directly to the Global Head of IM&S.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Sourcing Strategy
* Drive the development and implementation of category strategies within the framework of the global procurement strategy.
* Analyze market and implement risk management strategies for the portfolio.
* Lead sourcing strategy development within cross-functional teams including regional category managers for relevant categories.
* Drive sourcing strategy implementation by leading major RFQs and key negotiations.
Portfolio Management
* Negotiate contracts globally.
* Select, manage and audit suppliers.
* Identify opportunities for portfolio optimization and involve and engage stakeholders in development of optimization plans.
* Link with Site Buyers and Regional IM&S Managers and sourcing centers to identify alternative suppliers in other geographies, deploy global strategies, contracts and framework agreements, collect supplier performance feedback.
* Identify potential demand and specification changes and communicate them to suppliers.
* Manage key supplier relationships, and lead GBS escalated supplier conflict resolutions.
* Ensure vendor performance at target levels.
Stakeholder Relationship
* Communicate with key internal stakeholders/Global Head IM&S any market conditions changes which may affect the Business.
* Support the responsible sourcing projects implementation & provide information to Procurement Sustainability Manager when needed.
* Identify potential demand and specification changes and communicate/influence business stakeholders to drive cost improvements.
Cost Optimization and Business Planning
* Prepare initiative plans and forecasts following business budget cycle.
* Develop cost reduction projects.
* Provide price forecast and market trends for key commodities and services.
People Management
* Develop an engaged IM&S organization.
* Guide the RCM in other regions to ensure the strategic agenda is implemented regionally.
* Attract and train the necessary talent to build a distinctive organization.
* Develop a succession plan and promote high potentials and address performance gaps.
* Be an active member of the Global IM&S Leadership Team.
IM&S processes and systems
* Train team members on relevant policies, procedures and systems and where applicable support implementation of new processes.
* Support/ensure that systems and processes are in place to support all audit requirements regarding "Source to Pay".
* Being first contact for GBS PtP organization in the region and participate in improvement projects towards global processes and change management with stakeholders.
* Ensure data accuracy in systems by driving discipline.
Sustainability
* Drive the sustainability and Responsible Sourcing agenda within the category.
Your professional profile includes:
* 10 years' experience in IM&S Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain.
* International exposure in previous role.
* Experience running freight tenders with high complexity.
* Knowledge of Freighttender tools is required.
* Fluent in English, knowledge of French or German a plus.
* Excellent negotiation skills.
* Good understanding of business needs and ability to engage with stakeholders at different levels and with different functions.
* Cultural awareness and adaptable to fast changing business requirements.
* Strong collaborator, builds network rapidly.
* CI mindset and ability to Challenge current state. Managerial Courage.
* Change management skills – track record in managing culture and complex transformations.
* Passion for success with a high energy level.
