The Procurement Project Manager oversees various projects within Diagnostics Direct Procurement, collaborating closely with stakeholders and adjacent functions. These projects involve developing and refining cutting-edge procurement processes, incorporating both traditional and agile methodologies. Furthermore, the Procurement Project Manager leads benchmarking and sourcing initiatives, leveraging digital technologies and tools like eAuctions.
The ideal candidate holds a university degree in Engineering, Business, Finance or Life Sciences and boasts 5+ years of procurement or supply chain expertise. This includes delivering measurable value in strategic sourcing, enterprise cost reduction, and operational efficiency projects. Additionally, we seek someone who prioritizes patients, fosters teamwork, values diversity, and adopts a long-term perspective.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and execute comprehensive procurement project plans, taking into account timelines, budgets, and resource requirements.
2. Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scopes, objectives, and deliverables.
3. Monitor and control project execution.
4. Identify and mitigate risks – Monitor project progress and proactively report any projected risks to overall targets or timelines, along with potential mitigation strategies. Resolve issues and project risks promptly and escalate when necessary.
5. Plan, design, and lead global Sourcing & Benchmarking projects.
6. Lead cross-functional collaboration with internal and external partners; Coordinate cross-functional teams.
7. Promote close alignment with relevant stakeholders within Roche Diagnostics and across Roche Group.
8. Lead global projects to enhance and continuously improve the modern procurement process landscape.
9. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and identify improvement opportunities.
10. Manage backlogs.
11. Leverage digital procurement technology to drive an efficient, compliant Sourcing & Benchmarking process.
12. Evaluate and improve procurement processes regularly, identifying opportunities for automation, streamlining, and cost savings.
13. Implement best practices and standard operating procedures to increase overall procurement efficiency.
Requirements
1. University degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or Life Sciences preferred.
2. High proficiency in English.
3. 5+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, delivering measurable value in strategic sourcing, cost reduction, and/or operational efficiency projects, preferably in a global Pharma or Medical Device manufacturing company.
4. Familiarity with project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall.
5. Demonstrated understanding of major direct spend categories and potential cost levers or market fundamentals.
6. Strong background in strategic sourcing and supplier management for new product development and introduction in highly regulated industries.
7. At least 3 years of project management experience, including risk management, project reporting, and delivering results in complex environments.
8. Proven experience in upward communication and senior stakeholder management, supported by strong interpersonal skills (communication, influencing).
9. Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
10. Documented international strategic sourcing experience and/or cross-functional, international projects in Procurement.
11. Experience with new product and/or technology transfer processes and requirements.
12. Experience working in complex global matrix environments and cross-functional settings.
13. Strong analytical skills, including data visualization applications (e.g., Tableau, Qlikview) and database applications (e.g., Access).
14. Experience with enterprise systems (SAP, Oracle) and procurement tools (GEP, Ariba, Emptoris, SAP).
Nice to have qualifications include:
1. Postgraduate business-related qualification. Additional certification in Procurement or Project Management.
2. Life Sciences or Management Consulting industry experience.
3. Professional purchasing (CIPS), project management (PMP, Prince 2), or Finance related licenses or certifications would be beneficial.
