Take part!The Section provides the RF power generation necessary to feed on the particle accelerators at CERN. We are responsible for the RF power system design and specification, procurement, installation, and reliable operation for a large part of the CERN accelerators, and high-power RF test facilities. We also engage in R&D for novel power sources in collaboration with external partners. Functions Design and build new high-voltage systems to power high-performance klystrons; Oversee the troubleshooting and operation of pulsed and continuous-wave (CW) high-voltage generators (60–360 k V) for RF systems; Provide expert support to the operating team on high-voltage-related issues; Define and manage technical specifications as well as procurement documentation; Lead the procurement, installation, and commissioning of high-voltage systems; Supervise and mentor staff and students as needed, fostering a collaborative environment; Ensure the safety of test stands in close partnership with CERN's Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) service. Qualifications Master's degree or equivalent relevant experience in the field of electrical engineering or a related field. Experience: Required experience with: Designing high voltage; High voltage devices and pulse power engineering; Operating complex RF power systems.
