As part of Leonardo, Kopter is developing the AW09, a next-generation single-engine helicopter with a large cabin and cargo hold. It features increased modularity and modern electronic systems, delivering the latest safety standards, more performance, and comfort at low operating costs.
The AW09 will be Kopter's Centre of Excellence for new light helicopters and an incubator of new technologies, contributing to the development of hybrid and electrical propulsion systems.
Your Responsibilities
We are looking for an outstanding Analysis Lead Engineer with a strong background in structural stress analysis.
* Sizing and stress analysis of airframe structures using hand calculations, numerical simulations (FEM), and optimization techniques
* Structural analysis of structures according to aerospace analysis methodologies and applicable regulatory frameworks (EASA Part-21,J and CS27)
* Conducting trade studies as part of the development of Kopter products
* Static and fatigue analysis for structures during the process of obtaining a prototype permit to flight or aircraft type certificate
* Participating in the definition of material and structural tests
* Preparing analysis reports, technical notes, and presentations
* Preparation and management of work packages performed internally and externally
* Following and supporting flight test activities with a focus on structures
Your Qualifications & Experience
We are seeking candidates with:
* MSc degree in Aerospace/Mechanical or Structural Engineering or related discipline
* Understanding of lightweight structures design
* Minimum 5 years of professional experience in aerospace/aviation
* Knowledge and understanding of applicable regulatory framework (EASA Part-21,J and CS27)
* English minimum B2 level (spoken and written)
* Ability to work in a high-paced environment with high pressure to deliver
* Comfortable with multitasking and juggling several tasks simultaneously
* Self-motivated and comfortable working with limited guidance
Essential:
* Comfortable working from first principles
* Experience and knowledge of traditional hand calculation methods
* Experience and knowledge of composite materials and analysis
* Experience and knowledge of FEA using Hyperworks, Hypermesh, and Nastran/Optistruct or other packages
* Experience of optimizing lightweight structures
