Our client, a leading-edge investment firm offering financing solutions for technology-driven companies, is recruiting an associate to join their team in Switzerland. They partner with deep-tech start-ups by offering unique tailored financing solutions, empowering companies to scale rapidly and maximize their potential. With three offices spread across the Bay area, London and Switzerland, their team is expanding in all three locations with a view to increase capital deployment.
In their Swiss office, we are recruiting an investment associate who will play a crucial role in identifying, evaluating, and executing on promising investment opportunities. You will work closely with an experienced deal team to conduct comprehensive due diligence, structure and negotiate terms, as well as managing lifecycle of investments. The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial minded, technically, and financially savvy professional with a first experience in Investment banking, consulting and/or venture capital, and a genuine interest for start-ups.
What the job involves
1. Source and screen potential investment opportunities, identifying promising deep tech start-ups
2. Conduct in-depth analysis of investment opportunities by delivering on due diligence (commercial/financial) and preparing investment memos
3. Assist in financial structuring and negotiation of terms
4. Ensure follow up of portfolio to monitor and evaluate performances, as well as exploring follow-on transactions
5. Develop and cultivate a network throughout the VC and technology ecosystem, actively participating in VC and tech conferences
Who we are looking for
1. Passion for start-ups and a genuine interest for disruptive technologies
2. University degree in business, finance, science, or engineering, with a strong emphasis on finance
3. At least 3 years of relevant work experience in banking, consulting or start-up and VC world
4. Sound understanding of financial modelling techniques
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify critical factors and make sound investment decisions
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and proficiency in German is a plus
