Position Summary
As an Associate Research Scientist, you will be responsible for planning and conducting parts of research projects related to probiotic fermentation.
A Day in the Life of an Associate Research Scientist
* Design, plan and execute wet lab experiments related to different fermentation projects, using different bioreactor systems.
* Employ a data-driven approach to optimize bioprocess efficiency and yield.
* Explore & implement state-of-the-art methodologies relevant for probiotics.
* Provide relevant and timely scientific support in R&D and in close collaboration with factories.
* Coordinate laboratory activities and work in accordance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
* Contribute to knowledge-building projects and support business-related project activities.
What will make you successful
* BSc or MSc in Biotechnology or Microbiology, or a related field with a focus on fermentation/bioprocessing.
* 2 - 5 years of practical experience in bioprocessing preferred.
* Strong hands-on experience with lab-scale bioreactor systems.
* Experience in the field of probiotic or cell-based fermentation is a must.
* Experience in industrial scale fermentation and downstream (e.g., drying) processes is a plus.
* Proficiency in R, Python, MATLAB, or similar tools for data analysis and data visualization is a plus.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced agile environment.
* Innovative and entrepreneurial mindset.
* Fluent in English (oral & written), German is a plus.
