The Position
Roche Diagnostics has a broad portfolio of > 1000 products across six Customer Areas (CAs) that include our widely-used molecular, pathology, point-of-care and core solutions in conjunction with our digital solutions in Diagnostics and Healthcare Insights. The Portfolio Management team works as part of the Portfolio and Project Management (PPM) group to help each Customer Area track and manage their portfolio from a strategic vantage point.
What You Can Expect & Where you can contribute
This internship will support the execution of the Diagnostics and Customer Area strategy by developing tools and generating insights for effective portfolio management and informed decision making. You will be embedded in the portfolio team and have the opportunity to contribute and learn about the following:
1. Get to know the product portfolio of a market-leading diagnostics company
2. Learn to analyze portfolio data and generate insights related to strategic portfolio management
3. Support the development, improvement, and further adoption of portfolio reports and dashboards, including developing and executing on associated communication plans
4. Support and work closely with Cross and Customer Area Portfolio Managers in the organization
5. Collaborate with other colleagues in Portfolio and Project Management (ie. Analytics & Insights)
6. Get exposure to portfolio decision making and key portfolio stakeholders
Who You Are
7. To be eligible for this internship, you must either be currently enrolled at a university in life sciences, engineering, or business pursuing a Master's degree, or have completed your studies within the past 12 months prior to the starting date with a Master's degree.
8. For Non-EU/EFTA citizens: due to regulations, you must provide a mandatory letter issued by your university stating that an Internship is mandatory for your studies.
Skills & Experience
9. Business acumen, strategic thinking and interest / understanding of the pharmaceutical, diagnostics, medical devices, or related fields markets and dynamics
10. Strong analytical skills, including quantitative modeling and complex problem-solving ability
11. Sound organizational and planning skills
12. Ability to convey messages and communicate in a compelling way through usage of gSlides / PowerPoint
13. Ability to clearly articulate key analytical findings to a variety of audiences and to consolidate and synthesize information and data into insights
14. Experience in one or more of the following is helpful: management consulting, investment banking, corporate strategy
15. Proficiency in English
