Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Physical Chemist for our expanding surface engineering activities in Marin-Epagnier, Switzerland.
You will be an integral part of a motivated team dedicated to developing innovative surface and interface enhancement processes for new products and applications.
Main responsibilities include:
* Designing and developing robust surface cleaning and coating processes on vacuum-based equipment.
* Analyzing samples through phenomenological testing, performing in-depth defect analyses, and proposing improved processes.
* Documenting and promoting solutions.
* Realizing prototypes and small series.
* Scaling up and transferring processes to mass production.
* Independently defining and managing R&D projects internally and with external partners to achieve fixed objectives.
* Performing technology scouting and early-stage identification of the latest trends in surface treatment and coating technologies.
* Providing expertise on demand in the aforementioned domains.
Requirements:
* University-level education in physical chemistry, inorganic chemistry, or solid-state physics.
* Proficiency in surface and interface chemical and physical phenomena, including adhesion and corrosion.
* Practical experience in ALD process engineering is highly valued.
* A habit of taking initiative and working independently.
* Analytical thinking and capacity for oral and written synthesis.
* Strong motivation to contribute actively to a multidisciplinary and international team for continuous improvement and innovation in products and technologies.
Languages:
* Familiarity with French is essential due to the predominantly French-speaking work environment.
* Excellent English language skills are required for effective communication within our scientific and engineering environment.
