Semi-Senior DevOps Engineer
Job Summary
Top responsibilities:
1. Design and implement solutions for the team following best practices and standards.
2. Define and implement Code and Release management strategies for the team.
3. Focus on Automation to improve efficiency.
4. Partner with the product team to explain in plain language technical scenarios and collaborate on product vision and roadmaps.
5. Collaborate with stakeholders to estimate, prioritize, and plan work items to be handled during sprints and iterations.
6. Collaborate with development and QA throughout the design and deployment processes while establishing and maintaining standards to improve quality and delivery time.
7. Lead, mentor, and coach junior team members.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements
Excellent technical skills, enabling the implementation of future-proof, complex global solutions. Excellent documentation and dashboarding skills. Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills that are required to operate as a member of global, distributed teams that deliver quality services and solutions. Ability to rapidly gain knowledge of the organizational structure of the firm to facilitate work with groups outside of the immediate technical team. Knowledge and experience in IT methodologies and life cycles that will be used.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
1. 2+ years of DevOps activities supporting CI/CD delivery using code management, orchestration management and automation tools.
2. 2+ years of Cloud Administration experience.
3. Multi-system Integration using industry standards such as REST, API, JSON, SOAP.
4. Experience with multi-tier system and service design and implementation for large enterprises.
5. Proficiency in:
1. Infrastructure-as-Code (Specially Terraform and ARM Templates)
2. Code Management tools (Git / GitHub / Azure DevOps)
3. Release Management tools (Azure DevOps mostly)
4. At least one programming/scripting language (PowerShell, Python, Bash, .net)
5. Serverless / containerized solutions.
6. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalency (CS, CE, CIS, IS, MIS, or engineering discipline).
Required Technical and Professional Expertise for Kubernetes and Containers
1. 2+ years of Kubernetes Administration and Development Experience:
1. Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS)
2. Helm Charts and Kustomize
3. Ingress Controllers, Admission Controllers
4. Operators and Controllers
5. Auto-Scale (HPA, KEDA)
6. GitOps
2. 2+ years Docker Containers, Registries and Containers Runtimes.
3. 1+ years Microservices Architecture and Solution Design for Kubernetes.
Preferred Technologies Experience
1. Azure
2. Ansible
3. Terraform
4. Azure ARM Templates
5. Azure DevOps / GitHub
6. Google Cloud - Anthos - GKE
Desired Certifications
1. Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
2. Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900)
Desired Qualifications
Experience in distilling complex technical challenges to actionable decisions for stakeholders and guiding project teams by building consensus and mediating compromises when necessary. Experience coordinating the intersection of complex system dependencies and interactions. Experience in solution delivery using common methodologies especially SAFe Agile. Master’s degree or equivalent (MS CS, CE, or engineering discipline).
