Project Coordinator
Location: Monthey, VS
Duration: 01/04/2025 - 31/03/2027
Workload: 40% office (permit preparation, planning...) & 60% field (site monitoring, work initiation...)
In a matrix organization and under the responsibility of a project manager, ensure the role of project coordinator. Ensure that all activities are carried out according to the company's global HSEQ standards, the chemical site's guidelines, current standards, and legal requirements. Perform all assigned tasks in compliance with the HSEQ framework, planning, scope.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare the worksite:
Manage overall site risk analyses
Ensure that companies provide the necessary documents (PHS, operating procedures...)
Verify and validate operating procedures and their integration into the entire site
Validate the need for access means if necessary, and consult with companies if required
Manage the entire execution/construction phase:
Ensure compliance with HSEQ standards during the construction phase
Prepare and issue various work permits and site risk analyses
Plan, coordinate, and follow up on the interventions of different companies/internal teams
Communicate the planning and organization to the different stakeholders (production management, building HSEQ manager, project team)
Adapt the site phasing in case of deviations or unforeseen events and update the planning
Conduct safety audits in collaboration with management
Perform regular work inspections (quality and compliance)
Participate in commissioning:
Assist the project engineer during commissioning
Help update plans
Participate in feedback sessions at the end of the project
Participate in preliminary studies as field support (taking measurements/photos, macro pre-planning...), as well as in technical meetings with stakeholders.
Consult companies on small lots (e.g., scaffolding, lifting platforms, minor masonry work, pipe extensions, cleaning...).
Analyze, identify, and develop the workload plan with the project manager.
Majority occupation (80-90%) on Dismantling projects:
Intervention on production units
The worksite environment is operational
ATEX zoning is very present
Confined space access is present
Variable schedules
Key Requirements:
10 years of experience in site management in heavy industries (chemical, pharmaceutical, steel production sites) with ATEX zones (gas and powder)
Experience in piping, chemical process, civil engineering, metal framework
Knowledge of working constraints in ATEX zones
Increased awareness of chemical installation risks
Preference for fieldwork and teamwork
Preference for human management
Problem-solving ability
Flexibility for other types of projects (Infrastructure: locker room creation, HVAC system installation, enclosed structures...)
Proficiency in computer tools (Excel, Outlook, MS Project...)
Reading of plans and P&IDs
Manual and 3D technical drawing
Ability to create diagrams and principle isometrics
Comfortable with human contact and good team spirit
Ability to unite site stakeholders
Pragmatism in defining and implementing solutions
Organizational skills, rigor, result orientation
Strong development of client focus
Fluent in FRENCH
Holds an EU passport or valid Swiss work permit
