Job Description
We are looking for a Production Manager to join our Operations Team based in Zurich. As part of our exciting growth, this role will play a crucial part in ensuring production meets customer demand on time, to quality, and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
* Manage production to meet customer demand on time, to quality, and efficiently.
* Lead continuous improvement initiatives to show improving cost, efficiency, quality, and lead time.
* Oversee the Manufacturing Team to ensure they meet their goals and objectives.
* IDentify staffing levels and training needs necessary to maximise production efficiency.
* IDentify tools and equipment necessary to perform tasks as required.
* Lead a culture of continuous improvement and encourage participation.
* Work closely with NPI to ensure smooth introduction of new products, upgrades, and production changes.
* Measure, analyse, and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) relevant to your area.
* Ensure Standard Operating Procedures are up-to-date and consistently used to ensure product quality.
* Work closely with Quality, Materials, Facilities, and Engineering managers to ensure operations goals and objectives are met.
* Manage the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and ensure inventory accuracy.
* Analyse field/production failures to enable corrective action to prevent reoccurrence.
* Lead Supply chain improvement and continuous improvement projects affecting Cost, Quality, and Delivery.
* Develop key suppliers and implement Long Term Agreements in line with the agreed strategy.
* Ensure staff well-being and promote an atmosphere of teamwork and positive attitude towards meeting goals and objectives.
* Implement and maintain Environmental and Health & Safety policies.
Requirements:
* A master's degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering or Physics.
* Experience with low volume, highly complex engineering/production.
* Several years of experience in managing production and testing of complex high-tech products.
* Experience with Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques with a proven track record of delivering positive cost, quality, and performance results.
* Demonstrated ability to utilise structured problem-solving methodologies.
* Knowledge of Project Management techniques and experience leading cross-functional project teams.
* Computer literacy with experience of using ERP/MRP systems such as production routings and BOM Structures.
* Knowledge in nanoindentation, atomic force microscopy, vacuum systems, or electron microscopy (highly advantageous).
