Job Overview
In this role, you will manage local procurement operations at our Bern manufacturing site.
You will be responsible for ensuring materials are available on time and in the right quality and quantity to produce life-saving products.
This role is part of the Site Supply Chain leadership team and involves close collaboration with planning and logistics teams, as well as our global sourcing team and peers from other CSL Behring sites.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage procurement activities related to materials, supplies, equipment, and services.
2. DIRECT buyers to accomplish company objectives while following company policies and procedures.
3. Negotiate favorable terms and long-term contracts with suppliers.
4. Analyze key materials, detailing price and supply trends, market trends, and future purchasing strategy.
5. Lead cost reduction activities and communicate savings philosophy to staff.
6. Act as primary management contact and coordinate activities with internal stakeholders to address operational issues.
7. Maintain relationships with key suppliers to improve delivery of goods/services.
8. Contribute to systems and process improvement to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
9. Enforce compliance with the Global Sourcing and Procurement Policy.
Educational Requirements
1. Bachelor's degree in business or a technical field.
2. At least 7 years' experience in procurement/purchasing.
3. Purchasing Management Certification (ISM/CPM).
4. Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with experience managing teams.
5. Demonstrated success in contract negotiations.
6. Fluency in English and German.
