Bcomp Ltd is bringing new innovative products in the automotive market. To strengthen our product development team in the final phases of the product development process, Bcomp is looking for an experienced industrialisation engineer.
This person will be in charge of conducting product industrialisation projects and by that ensuring that the new product will be ready for SOP (Start of Production) according to automotive standards. The individual will thus work closely with Bcomp process experts, with suppliers and with our teams in production and quality.
Main tasks and responsibilities
The Industrialisation Engineer will be mainly involved in the industrialisation phase of the product development process following APQP standard for our ampliTex and powerRibs product ranges. However, the person will already be involved in the early process development phase in order to anticipate potential industrialisation challenges.
Within an interdisciplinary environment with R&D Processing Experts, Quality and Operations, the main tasks will include:
Product and process development phase
* Evaluation of manufacturing processes for Bcomp products and their qualification according to APQP automotive standards.
* Development and implementation of product specific validation activities and their detailed documentation using quality tools (e.g. FMEA, MSA, validation plans, control plans, process flow charts & process instructions) to ensure full PPAP approval.
* Optimization of the manufacturing processes to minimize potential risks and to increase efficiency for serial production.
* Lead on process validation activities including definition and execution of validation plans.
* Plan and execution of machine & process capability tasks for serial production using relevant tools of SPC.
* Execution of Run@Rate trials on-site at supplier locations.
* Support validation activities for the implementation of engineering change requests including risk assessment and documentation.
Required competences
* Engineering degree (chemical, mechanical, industrial, materials science or similar) with at least 3 years of experience in product/process industrialisation, ideally within the automotive industry.
* Good knowledge of standard development steps within the APQP framework.
* Good understanding of associated core tools for process industrialisation (mainly PFMEA, SPC & MSA).
* Strong experience in testing and process validation, ideally with a focus on polymer and/or textile manufacturing processes.
* Structured way of working with a great attention for details and the ability to handle many projects in parallel.
* Enjoying interdisciplinary teamwork and bringing support and expertise to various project teams.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills.
* Readiness to travel.
* Language: English mandatory, French and or German is an advantage.
* Positive and energetic mindset – everything is possible.
