Development Engineer Welded Structures Simulation
As a Development Engineer specializing in welded structures simulation, your role will involve assessing and enhancing the structural components of large two-stroke diesel engines such as crankcase, charging unit, catalytic reactor, exhaust manifold and more.
In this position, you will collaborate closely with the R&D team on technically challenging tasks, providing you with ample opportunities for significant growth in engineering expertise and knowledge.
Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for the assessment and development of structural components, primarily welded structures
2. Assist in the layout, design, and optimization of components
3. Conduct finite element simulations and prepare simulation reports
4. Apply and improve internal FE calculation approaches
5. Failure analysis and development of repair solutions in case of damages
Requirements:
6. MSc Mechanical Engineering (Ing. ETH or HTL / FH or equivalent)
7. Good knowledge of design and stress assessment of mechanical components
8. Experience with FEM software (preferably ANSYS) required
9. Experience with APDL, Python and LaTeX is beneficial
10. Fluent in English, and German proficiency is beneficial; good oral and written communication skills
11. Independent, self-driven, and target-oriented way of working
